University of Toronto Quercus Training

Held at various locations.  Faculty are welcome to attend at a workshop of their choice.
Any U of T member (staff, instructor) can register.  These workshops are co-sponsored by U of T Faculties and Divisions and the Centre to Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI).

Quickstart Quercus

Quercus (Canvas) has been selected as U of T’s new academic toolbox and will replace the Portal (Blackboard) September 01, 2018.  Quercus provides online access to course materials and a variety of tools to enhance teaching and learning activities with a clean and easy to navigate interface.  This introductory, two-hour workshop will provide instructors, teaching assistants and course administrators with essential information to begin building a Quercus course. Workshop facilitators will walk-through key features and tools through demos and hands-on activities, and share best practices on how to effectively use these tools when designing Quercus courses. Topics covered include organizing a Quercus course, enrolling course staff, posting content, sending announcements, and communicating with students.
