Some interesting articles about Quercus in the student press this week:

“The new academic toolbox will have new tools and better flexibility than Portal. The university is currently focused on transferring existing tools and features from Portal to Quercus. While there will be some changes, the major tools will be carried forward to Quercus,” wrote Pranav Srikanth in The Varsity (https://thevarsity.ca/2018/01/08/new-quercus-software-to-replace-portal/).

Meanwhile, writing in the The Medium, UTM’s student paper, Alicia Boatto quoted UofT CIO Bo Wandschneider – “This system is a lot more open and flexible than what we had, and that allows us to build on what we call the academic toolbox which is the sort of notion that this product called Canvas is really our engine now for learning management.” (https://themedium.ca/news/portal-retired-fall-term/).
